I thought I saw a whale in the water, effortlessly flowing downstream in the silver backed water. I thought I saw a whale chasing a silver backed salmon in the grey water, a thin veil of the mud below. The veil led me to believe that the ocean had finally come, and that it was deep and full of confusing things. Confusing because how could they be there, when only hours before the water was only mud. Mud that was being constantly barraged by the onslaught of water from the sky, filling up the area that I wanted to believe was the ocean. I thought I saw a whale in the water, effortlessly flowing downstream in the silver backed water. But it was only a rock rising on occasion to spew forth wisdom through his stationary blow hole.
