Had a pretty active weekend. On Saturday morning I participated in my first Tour De Troit.
Along with my friends Jimmy and Ray (Hawk Daddy) and 5,000 others – we biked around the city a good 20 odd miles. I’m already looking forward to next year – now that I know what I’m in for – meaning I need to have snacks ready. SNACKS!
Of course – this weekend was also the best weekend of the year – the annual DIY festival. I made sure to bust out the horsemask during the Lightning Love set. Wound up buying two of their CDs. Also – had some goodies for some frenz. (that’s Christina with Jimmy)
That may not have been the smartest thing to do before a 10k the next morning – but I managed to get up and out there on a beautiful day for the Run Wild at the Zoo.
I think I did pretty good for not having been a runner for all that long. Placed exactly in the middle of my division.
Coming up in just over a month is the half-marathon. Still nervous about that. But this was a nice boost in confidence. I mean look at me, I’m showboatin.
So things are a little better than they were just a few months ago. Time keeps going by and I’m still dealing with stuff, but I’m not feeling nearly as hopeless. I’m really appreciative of my friends that have stuck by me during what I’m sure were times that it wasn’t very easy to stick by me. I’m lucky to have them.
So that’s a brief update. Carry on.
