Thomas has got some interesting links up for today --- my personal favorite being hoogerbrugge - though this Fuseli print hangs in my room, purchased at the DIA

Insomnia captures the cluelessness of GWB during the last press "conference."

Megnut showed the way to get your BoingBoing fix while their server is down, and upon arriving -- one can find this link to famous album covers rendered in legos...

A great reason to join the army -- a nurturing and loving family environment.

Foreign Policy in the Bush Administration continues to amaze me...to clarify - Romania and Russia

la de da...dodie do -- CORRUPTION!

The scariest thing I could dig up for Halloween - fashion faux pas.

Gonna borrow Coleman's digital camera while they're away on honeymoon -- so should have some pics up from tonight, tomorrow...

First things first - I hope Dan Ryan is doing well out there in Cali...I suppose from the satellite images it looks like the Palos Verdes Peninsula isn't really involved with the wildfires...seemingly north of the mayhem -- but Dano -- if you're out there and reading -- please write in and let us know what's going on out there...

And now -- click below to read on about the wedding...

In a little over 24 hours, I will be all primped and primed to watch one two of my best friends walk down the aisle. Bizarre.

Kristen and Coleman will be tying the knot tomorrow around 2:30. Immediately following - the earth will shake with the massive amounts of liquids being ingested by solids. The booties will be breakin as the bartender keeps shakin those silver slices of heaven. I and approximately seven of my friends have rented out a resort bungalow for the evening -- so that approximately 26 hours from now the revelry will kick into 5th gear. DJ Penis will be cuttin out the tunes - and a large jam session has also been squeezed into the agenda.

Already there are cosmic shifts in the universe. Around 3 p.m. today a massive solar flare is expected to cause electrical mayhem here on this third rock we call home. Perhaps it will continue to thaw out what remains of an icy cold year long silence I chipped away at Wednesday night with a swing dance maneuver and a few choice words. Grudges become less gripping when a mutual happiness is there to be shared.

While there may not be party hats -- and while I have, as yet, not procured a cheeseball to smuggle onto the catering table - the festivities will definitely rival any I've seen in quite some time. Things are gonna change quite a bit. Life is definitely going to be oozing out of its mouldings. Perhaps it will be the cause that will effect a reengagement with positive practices I have left dormant. Already I feel the need for some change in the scenery around here -- but there is so much that can be done that it is a little overwhelming to begin. Soon - though - a revamping will be in order...

I'm gonna have to try and procure a decent digital camera for the event -- as there will surely be many opportunities for pictures that my flashless little dink of a camera will not be able to do justice. Perhaps I shall sneak over to Coleman's house and gank his...and hang onto it while they carouse the carribean...so that I can give this little portion of yezbick.com a facelift.

I'll be taking this laptop with me tomorrow --- and may even have the opportunity to update -- though that remains highly doubtful. It will most likely take on its alter ego of DJ Penis and be used to render pixelated images into stowage until an update worthy of posting can be made in a few days.

For now - I have to go hide the bananas.

The Big Question

Monsieur wants to know "How are we out of toliet paper?"

I have a few theories as to why we're out of toilet paper...

  • I've been sick lately.
  • I bought the good shit this past time - Charmin with Aloe -- so maybe we've been a little overzealous in its usage.
  • When I said I've been sick - I meant with a head cold - and we don't have any kleenex in the house -- so...(but don't rule out the other kind of sick that you were thinking about - because there have been plenty of those morning surprises too...)
  • That's about all I can come up with for now -- and I haven't seen Monsieur since I got home late last night from the bachelor/bachelorette party --- so -- If any of you can think of any more answers for "How are we out of toliet paper?" -- lemme know... Star - I'm counting on you.

    Moustache party tonight...perhaps pics later...

    * - 10/20 - a coupla pics - the first being of me and the birthday boy - c-murph

I just got back from the bank. I was depositing my check in the ATM when the whole screen started freaking out and rebooted on me. I watched the whole program reload -- and waited -- and waited - but my card never came back out. I was half hoping that cash would start flying out so fast that I'd have Andrew Jackson permanantly tatooed on my forehead....

I just saw the Honda commercial with Ween's Oceanman playing in the background. Dats crazy.

Anyhow -- I have to go back to the bank tomorrow to get my card -- hopefully they'll be open early - cuz I gotta be at the job at 8 a.m.

    Radiohead on letterman tonight...mmmmmmm...

    * - 10/18 6:08 p.m. - apparently I'll have to wait a few days for the mail --- The ATM, for some odd reason - isn't kept up by the branch...How will I spend money lavishly without my plastic swipey-swipe?

Educate your mind -- find out when Frontline's Truth, War and Consequences is showing -- and watch it. The innocents lost, the occupation -- the lack of training...the lack of what we got to see here in the United States while it was happening.

I'd have some more commentary on this but, well...I'll hold the thought for now...let it seethe. Mmmmmm. Seething....

    The Shut Up Persona

    |

I think it must be written into Bill O'Reilly's contract that every interview or appearance he gives must end with him telling the interviewer to shut up. I just finished listening to O'Reilly's interview on Fresh Air with Terry Gross. The interview lasted 50 minutes and seemed to be going smoothly - and kept my attention as I learned things about the man I loathe that rather surprised me. Then - all of a sudden - he snapped - and I was recalled to exactly what makes the man so despicable.

I can't believe California allowed Arnold to win.

I got an unexpected postcard from the plug today. Jay sure has some marketing skills.

The blogosphere is quickly becoming a graveyard.

    Somebody call the Mana.

One of you gals at your fancy schmancy jobs needs to call the Mana and tell her I was thinking of her last night as the Colts came back for an improbable victory against the Bucs...BWA - HA HA!!! Take that the Mana! Sapp won't be dancing tonight!

    GIMME SOME PORK RINDS!!

Heh. I was just going over my server logs and somebody came to me looking for "blind date pork rinds." Man that was a funny episode.

Someday I'm gonna meet a beautiful girl - and she's gonna want Howard Dean to be president too...article: "Straight women, meanwhile, have been spreading the word that Dean guys are passionate and cute." That's why I got into Dean, ya know, for dem hos! [via fimoculous]

Going through the bookmarks...why I haven't pointed this out earlier is beyond me -- Rocketpack...especially the articles by Raymi -[nqsfw]- she's got some really funny stuff that makes me soil my panties.

Oh - and as for my work related project - how about this gem -- "They start with the idea of, `OK, guys, be nice to customers.' The research has shown that really the key to wonderful customer service is treating employees right. The employee will not treat the customer any better than they are being treated." -- still looking for more recent and relevant...

oh- and here's one on how to play the game...[pdf]

    Star Made Me Do It...

    Well...uhhh....
    jason's done.
    Cam is done...again...
littleyellowdifferent is busy...still waiting for Blurbomat's vacation to end...minor9th is coming to town on business...

I've been seriously considering a few things...plasticbag's advice, and Mark's advice. Sounds like I shouldn't be writing anything. Which isn't too far from the current status of things.

Remember when I was watching Bush at the U.N. and I mentioned his finger rubbing? No...well -- here's the gist of it...m watching Dubya at the UN. Look at his fingers. He keeps rubbing his thumb across his index finger - he looks really nervous. Like he's rolling dice - not quite as suave as Clinton's thumbpoint. Well...thanks to a link from Kottke to The Nonverbal Dictionary of Gestures, Signs and Body Languagae Cues: From From Adam's-Apple-Jump to Zygomatic Smile there is a theory of what that body movement could possibly signal - c. scratching, rubbing, or pinching the skin, increase with anxiety and may signal deception, disagreement, fear, or uncertainty....

    The new plug is out.

There was a Web Zen on music that is worth perusing...zen music.

I'm under the weather and life is really not a joy right now...I know I know - superfantastic -- but it really isn't and just repeating that is like a quick hit of crack that just brings you down harder...a vicious cycle. I woke up this morning breathing through some sort of clogged up strainer -- I didn't take a Claritin before I went to bed last night but my body's dragging through the day is telling me there's something more to it than that...The question is how much of it is physical and how much of it is mental/emotional? No matter. I still have to go to work -- which has become quite masochistic. Yesterday we held a staff meeting - which was something short of controlled chaos. Everybody was jumping down everybody else's throats -- and the energy continued on into the evening well after the meeting was over - so that the bitching continued deep into the night. I'm also training about 8 different people this week because some genius thinks it's a great time to open another location - and yet has managed to hire only one worthy employee. I seriously don't understand what the thought process is behind his hiring some of these folks. Perhaps I should look into Human Resources as a profession -- because most of the time - you give me an hour with somebody and I can turn to my intuition for an answer as to whether or not I would want them around me for any more of an extended period of time...

I'm gonna be spending the next few sessions online looking for scientific articles - or just plain articles - that show a direct correlation between the manner in which you treat your employees and the profit your business produces...You know -- like - be nice to us and we'll be a happier bunch and probably won't want to stab out table 8's eyes with their own fork that shovels that corned beef hash into the hell of their bowels...I know you've heard it -- so if you see it - don't be afraid to comment on its location -- cause I'm gonna be real stealth and post these damn things all over the job...

How can one person be so obtuse?

    whatever
