Breaking news: I'm no longer unemployed...Details surely NOT to follow here...
Things keep falling by the wayside. A hand seems to be pushing them past - like treading through the waters of Katrina. Slow going, keep moving, heading for higher ground. There is a wake behind me. It's strange having a goal-oriented life -- something at which to actually take aim.
No more 400 degree kitchens. No more daily routines. Now it has become all about managing flux. Embracing new knowledge and knowing that you don't know everything - being eager to learn.
It is tiring -- but it is the fatigue one has while hiking or pushing through the paths - cycling uphill. You're doing this for a reason -- to get THERE -- and once you're THERE -- you feel a great sense of accomplishment...
I'm reminded of that movie - Touching the Void -- where that fellow, broken bones and all, drags himself deleriously down the side of the mountain - all the while telling himself - "If I can just get to that next stack of rocks..." Then, upon reaching that stack, "If I can just reach that next bend, I'll be there." All the way down the mountain.
Breaking great distances into smaller sections is a great deception. Insert existentialist rant about time [HERE].
I'm tired - but I'm exhilarated by the progress I've made...
Now if only I could influence my hosts to do the same - so that I could get the archives back up and running good n propah. HOLLA!
Strange events raised me from my slumbers the past two days.
This morning, upon seeing the remains of a gutted kitchen laid out to the side of the road -- smashed cupboards, splintered cabinets, etc. -- for pick up by the garbage crew -- said environmental technicians chose to notify my neighbor of their displeasure with several blasts of their horn.
Apparently failing to rouse him, or failing to realize he was not in -- the crew returned twice more with further annunciations on their horn...
The pile still sits...twenty yards deep, six feet high, as I type...
Previously -
Another neighbor is having her backporch redone...Pressure washing and painted over...There are probably only two or three workers on the job for this one.
I mention this incident for its peculiarity.
These workers woke me with their choral attempts at "I Don't Want to Wait" -- the Dawson's Creek theme song...
Not quite the song you would expect from home repair experts - but hey...It was much more pleasant - (perhaps more for its bizarre nature than actual skilled rendition) - than waking to the garbage crew percussion section.
Also - the Dawson's Creek theme song may be nearer to my heart now - since a few friends and I have been role playing the gang in emails ever since the whole Cruise/Holmes saga began...The thread of the email has gone multimedia -- with pictures interjected with imagined scenarios...
How they manage to free their time -- I don't know...

This is my grandfather's old bike. It is, at least temporarily, now my bike. I haven't been on a bike since '99 - in Skagway.
With gas prices being what they are - and with my limited need for transporting myself to differing points - I decided to take this baby, with the name "Brittany" and logo "Free Spirit" labeled on the bike, off the garage wall and begin using it...
I'll be traveling downtown to Wayne State in the Fall -- but mostly I stay within a 10 mile radius...So this'll be good.
Only problem -- I don't know how to work the gears...See next picture...
Appears, under your feet!
Making some changes around here. Things have gotten mighty slow on the computer side of yezbick.com. There's a lot of redundant data that has been brought about by me me me me me...
To see some of it: click here...
Here's your lesson -
Each of those lines -- is a folder...is a page -- which must be built by the engine behind this site.
That means that whenever a change is made to the templates upon which we build -- either the style of the site -- or EVEN YOUR COMMENTS -- it takes longer...
After tomorrow -- AFTER TOMORROW --
I will have hopefully navigated the site over to dynamic generation - which will ease up on that whole sch-bang.
I'm sure there's something more to say, but I can't quite think of it at the moment...

Q: How do you organize your music collection for scalability?
I need to free up space on my hard drive, which means I will be burning a number of CDs. I stripped my caselogics and laid out my cd's alphabetically. I also separated the genres of jazz, classical, and world. Before I put these CDs back into their cases, I'd like to know how best to address the scalability issue.
Should I leave four or five empty slots at the end of each letter?
And what about genre? Should I create an R&B genre? Does Reggae go into World?
What are, in your opinion, the best practices for organizing your music collection?
