I've helped to keep score at Battle of the Books the past two years. The competition is fierce and the air is electric. This is the reaction after one of the questions -- they reacted this way each time.

I'm gonna want to check this out. Dean Wareham has written an autobiography of his life and times in rock and roll. Liz Phair has a review of Black Postcards: A Rock & Roll Romance in todays New York Times.

I know. I know. I said I would be updating and blogging PLA08. Funny thing happened at the conference -- I wound up having a really, really good time -- and probably spent the least amount of time on the Interwebs that I have in ages.

What does a week away mean? It means getting a week behind.
