Not Even A Fetus Yet
January 17, 2005
Apparently, it is not a fetus until 20 weeks. It is still an embryo and is only the size of half a chewed up chicklet. The heart is already pumping, even though it is only the size of a poppy seed! For amazing pics see www.standupgirl.com. I tried to put her pics up here but no success. I'm not even technosavvy enough to know how put up a real link*sigh*.
Comments
ahem.
I removed my last comment on account of its fruity factor jumping into the stratosphere. All apologies.

Bad News.
According to my new statistical interpretation of the lost scrolls, progeny from any two of the five micki, cerberus, pee-wee herman, jb, or satan is fatalistically slated to occupy the slot of third of the four horsepersons of the apocalypse. Now see what you've gone and done?
Congratulations!

I recently saw an ultra sound on a 6 week 3 day old fetus. The heart was definitly beating. But, I think the baby was further than 6 weeks. The HCG levels in the urine said she was 10 weeks and the LMP said 10 weeks, but the measurements of the fetus was 6 weeks. It sure looked like a baby to me and not a 'chewed up piece of gum'. I could see the head and little arm buds and then of course the heart beating. The placenta was not there yet just the 'yoke sac'. It sure is a miracle! Stay healthy, and enjoy pregnancy. It goes by really fast then you miss the movement inside you. I often miss Molly rolling around in my belly when I'm trying to chase her little crawling self around the house! They grow up fast, so love them alot!!!

Congratulations!!! Its a scary and exciting time for you. If you need someone to hold your hand or something, I'll do my best from this far away. Especially being the one who had one last.. I can think of some things you're gonna like about pregnancy.
Good Luck to you and JB!
